Nowadays, most companies lay more emphasis on productivity and output than equipment/facilities, and therefore they have neglected that “Total Productive Maintenance” (TPM) has the function of maintaining the stability of the entire manufacturing process and is the cornerstone in the whole production system and even in the whole business system. Also, companies much emphasize the importance of OEE results, and thus have neglected the sustainability and stability of the entire production system.
When you measure the stability of production system of your own, you could ask yourself:
If a piece of equipment goes wrong, how many hours, minutes, seconds does it need for you to fix the problem?
How to shorten the time used?
From which aspects would you like to consider?
